🏅 Triops longicaudatus – primeval crabs starter pack 🦐

Triops are always a fascination for every child. Since the prehistoric crabs live for a relatively short time – usually up to three months – there is not too strong a bond with the animals, but the children learn to take on social responsibility for the first time. Triops longicaudatus is the American species with a shimmering grey carapace and the typical long forked tail. It is an animal that grows very quickly and develops full sexual maturity within two weeks.

After 14 days, the females start laying eggs in the sand by burying them there. After the Triops have reached the end of their life, you and your children can dry the sand with the eggs, freeze them and then start breeding again on your own. It’s guaranteed never to be boring with your Triops in the aquarium.
